Domains

Buy a domain in your company's own name and let Brigg run its DNS — and point it at a website made in Brigg.

Under Company settings › Domains you can buy a domain — such as fjellsportutleie.no — and let Brigg take care of its DNS. The domain is registered in your company's own name, so it is yours and not Brigg's. One click points it at a website you have made in Brigg. Admin

Who owns the domains

The first section, Who owns the domains, holds the details every domain is registered with: Organisation, Organisation number, Contact person, Address, Postal code, City, Country, Email and Phone. You confirm them once, before the first purchase, and they are used for every domain after that.

The organisation's name, number and address are filled in from the company register, spelt exactly as they are there, because that is what the domain registries check against. Check them, add a phone number and press Save. Use Edit to change them later. Only in Norway and Sweden

A .no domain can only be owned by an organisation registered in Norway.

Find a domain

Type a name under Find a domain and press Search. Brigg checks every ending at once, .no and .se first. Each ending shows Available with its price per year, Taken, Premium (a sought-after name with its own registry price), or Not for sale here. Press Buy next to the one you want. See Buying a domain.

Your domains

Your domains lists the domains bought through Brigg, each with its status:

  • Registering — bought and being registered. This usually takes a few minutes.
  • Active — registered and working. It shows when it expires and what it costs per year.
  • Renewal unpaid — the renewal could not be charged. Top up the credit before the domain expires.
  • Refused — the registry did not accept the registration, and the purchase was refunded. Remove clears it from the list.
  • Expired — the domain was not renewed.

DNS opens the domain's records, and Use for website points it at a website. See DNS and pointing a domain at a website.

Renewal

Brigg renews each domain every year, at the current price, from the workspace's credit. The renewal is charged a month before the domain expires. If the credit does not cover it, the domain is marked Renewal unpaid and Brigg tries again every day until it expires — top up under Credits and usage in time. See Credits and usage.
